Welcome! My name is Kim McGinnis-Zee. I am the Preschool Speech and Language Pathologist.
I have been in education for 15 years and have provided speech and language therapy in the public and charter settings. I have worked with all age groups varying from preschool to high school; however, my passion is with the early childhood programs. I have one toddler at home and am always learning how to balance work and life. We are a team in educating your child and we will walk through this "educational journey" together : )
I assist children in increasing their language and articulation skills and generalizing those skills throughout their school day. Therapy at the preschool level is integrated within the classroom and is designed and formatted as "play based". I work with the teachers in a co-teaching model in order to facilitate language development throughout each child's day. It is important your child have fun and laugh while learning new skills as they need to feel language is fun as well as powerful.
I typically do not send home homework. Your child will be working very hard on his/her individual goals throughout the day and it is developmentally important for your child to rest and rejuvenate once they arrive home.
