Hello Pirates! My name is Annie Kirsch and I am very excited to be your IB Spanish teacher!
The IB programme is something that I feel particularly aligned with due to my background. I was born here in AZ, but I spent my childhood overseas. I lived in Scotland, Hong Kong and the Philippines. In college, I spent my semester abroad studying in Madrid, Spain. The mission of the International Baccalaureate programme is based on intercultural understanding and respect, and I know first hand the importance of learning another language and experiencing other cultures.
On a personal note, I have been married for 22 years to my husband Andy. We have 2 awesome daughters, Grace and Katie, who will both be juniors this year in college and high school respectively. Our family was completed by our boy Rico, a heeler corgi mix that we rescued 5 years ago. We affectionately call him Rico Suave Kirsch :)
I am excited for year 2 of Spanish with the NC community, and I look forward to having a great year!
