Hello Pirates! My name is Annie Kirsch and I am very excited to be your IB Spanish teacher!
The IB programme is something that I feel particularly aligned with due to my background. I was born here in AZ, but I spent my childhood overseas. I lived in Scotland, Hong Kong and the Philippines. In college, I spent my semester abroad studying in Madrid, Spain. The mission of the International Baccalaureate programme is based on intercultural understanding and respect, and I know first hand the importance of learning another language and experiencing other cultures.
On a personal note, I have been married for 24 years to my husband Andy. We have 2 awesome daughters, Grace and Katie, who both graduated this past May. Grace graduated from Gonzaga University, and is the Music and Choir teacher here at NC! Katie graduated from Boulder Creek High School and is going to Colorado State University this fall. Our family was completed by our boy Rico, a heeler corgi mix that we rescued 7 years ago. We affectionately call him Rico Suave Kirsch :)
I am excited for year 4 of Spanish with the NC community, and I look forward to having a great year!
