Hello! My name is Eriselda Gjata, and I’m thrilled to begin my second year as a part-time Band Director with DVUSD. It’s a joy to be part of the Pirate family and to continue sharing my love for music with our students.
I’m originally from Albania, a small and beautiful country in Europe. I graduated from the University of Arts in Tirana in 2004 with a Bachelor’s Degree as a Professional Flutist. I began my teaching career in Albania, where I taught general music to students in grades K–8 for four years.
In 2008, I moved to the United States with my husband and spent 10 wonderful years in New York, where we welcomed our three amazing boys—Daniel, Dion, and Deart. In 2018, we relocated to Arizona in search of better weather and new opportunities.
Since moving to Arizona, I’ve taught music in several districts across the valley, and last year I joined DVUSD to be closer to family. Teaching music is not just my profession—it’s my passion. I believe every student is an artist, and with love and dedication, they can achieve anything they set their minds to.
I’m excited for a wonderful year of music-making and growth!
