4th Grade Supply List 2026-2027
Getting ready for 4th grade is a big step! This is usually the year where "learning to read" shifts into "reading to learn," and the workload gets a bit more organized. Label all personalized items with first and last name.
The Basics: Writing & Erasing
- #2 Pencils (24-pack): Ticonderoga pre-sharpened
- Pink Erasers: Two large ones
- Pencil Sharpener: A small, handheld one with a lid to catch shavings
- Highlighters: A pack of 4 (Yellow, Pink, Blue, Green) for note-taking
- Red Pens: For self-grading and peer editing
- Expo markers: black, fine tip
Notebooks & Paper (personal items)
- Composition Notebooks (4): One for subject area- ELA, math, science, and soc. studies. (green, red, blue, yellow)
- Pocket Folders (4): Heavy-duty plastic folders (green, red, blue, yellow)
Art & Project Supplies (personal items)
- Crayons or Colored Pencils: 24-pack
- Markers: Washable, broad-tip markers
- Glue Sticks (4-6): 4th graders go through glue sticks surprisingly fast!
- Liquid glue: 1 bottle
- Scissors
- Scotch tape and masking tape
- Sharpie (black)
- Mini Dry Eraser
Organization & Storage (personal items)
- Pencil Box or Pouch: To keep all those loose items in one place
- Backpack: Large enough to fit a standard folder, lunchbox, and chromebook
- Earbuds or Headphones: not cordless
Classroom Contributions (The "Extra Credit" Items)
- Tissues: Two large boxes
- Disinfecting Wipes: For keeping desks germ-free
- Hand Sanitizer: A pump bottle for the common area
- Ziploc Bags: Sandwich or gallon size for storing project pieces
- Paper towels
- Case of water
