This is my sixth year teaching at Norterra Canyon. I became a teacher in 2007 and taught Kindergarten and First Grade in the Paradise Valley Unified School District. In 2010, I became a mother and decided to stay home with my son. In 2012, our family welcomed a daughter. When my youngest started school, I became a substitute teacher in the district and decided it was time to return to the classroom. Not only am I part of the wonderful staff, but I am also a parent at Norterra Canyon and love our school!
A little bit about me:
I grew up in Mesa and graduated from Red Mountain High School. I then moved to Georgia where I attended Georgia Southern University. I graduated with a B.S. in Health Science and a minor in Child and Family Development. After having enough of the humidity, I decided to move back home to Phoenix. I worked for a group of technical schools as a placement advisor. This is where I met my husband and we have been married for 16 years! I attended the University of Phoenix and graduated with a M.Ed in Elementary Education in 2007. I have two wonderful, amazing children. My daughter is in 6th grade so she will still be a pirate for a few more years. My son is starting high school this year at Barry Goldwater.
When I am not in the classroom, I am busy being mom. I love spending time with my family. We love to go camping, watch movies, and play games together. I am involved in my son’s Boy Scout Troop and am a leader in my daughter’s Girl Scout Troop. In my free time, I love to read, bake, and go shopping.
